Christian Iddon, current lap record holder for the Bishopscourt race circuit, is the latest rider to sign up for the popular end of season short circuit event, The Jim Finlay Sunflower Trophy race meeting.
The TYCO BMW rider missed this event last year due to injuries, last competed at Bishopscourt in 2016, when he was narrowly beaten by Glenn Irwin on the PBM Ducati. However, in the opening superbike race of the day, Iddon clocked the magical 100.676 mph lap.
Son of former Skoal Bandit Suzuki rider, Paul Iddon, Christian just missed out in the showdown for the 2019 BSB series, following a crash at Knockhill, where he suffered a broken leg.
However at the most recent BSB round at Donington Park, the TYCO BMW rider proved his worth by qualifying 5th, but for a broken footpeg in race one, he could well have finished 3rd,but 6th and fifth in the second race proved that the former Supermoto rider was well on the pace .
Iddons inclusion in the entry list for the Sunflower in a fortnights time, will certainly add excitement to the event , along with Buildbase Suzukis Richard Cooper who won the corresponding event last year.
Practice will take place of Friday 25th October, followed by Five races including the First of Three Superbike races.
