ALASTAIR Seeley showed his title-winning pedigree at Bishopscourt this weekend as the Ulster Superbike championship rolled into town for its third round.
The Carrickfergus man aboard his IFS Logistics Yamaha put on yet another master class on Saturday, wining both Superbike outings which earned him the Temple 100 cup presented by the Temple Club to celebrate their centenary year.
In race one it was Pole man Ali Kirk who got the better start, but his moment of glory was short lived when Seeley slipped up the inside to take the lead into turn two on the second lap. Kirk had no answer and Seeley slowly opened a gap taking the chequered flag 2.8sec in front, as Stephen McAdoo came in in third while rookie Jonny Campbell had another superb race was fourth and roads man Adam McLean completed the top five.
After torrential rain delayed the start of race two, Kirk again got his AKR/McCurry racing BMW off the line ahead of Seeley and in the difficult conditions the pair changed places a number times but at the flag it was Seeley who maintained his unbeaten run taking the win albeit with a much narrower margin of less than a second. Another great performance by Campbell, who only stepped up to a Superbike this year, gave him the third step on the podium.
Seeley also had an unhindered win in the first of two Supersport races as he cruised to a win almost ten and a half seconds ahead of Gary McCoy Mark Conlin and youngster Cameron Dawson.
In the second 600 scrap, Seeley loose his first race of the season, as the heavens opened again runner up in the first encounter McCoy opened a huge lead in the opening lap, a lead he held relatively unchallenged to the flag, Seeley finished in second place 4.5sec in arrears, Christian Elkin, Ryan Fenton and Barry Sheehan completing the top five.
Kevin Lavery took the honours in both the Supertwin outings while Andrew Brady had another double win in the Pre-Injection class.
Teen Dawson was again untouchable again in the Supersport 300 class opener but sat out the second race which Jack Ferris took advantage with a win.
