MICHAEL Dunlop will line up in the Quattro British Supersport championship this weekend as he joins Dynavolt Triumph at Silverstone.
The road racing legend will join the PTR-run squad as he stands in for injured American Brandon Paasch, who fractured his scaphoid in a crash at Snetterton this past weekend.
Dunlop and PTR have history and have previously run Supersport machines together at the Isle of Man TT. But the Ulsterman will now hit the track on a 765cc triple as Paasch looks to make a return at Oulton Park later this month.
“I’ve been watching the bike as it’s progressed this year and the team seem to have done a great job,” Dunlop said.
“As a lot of people know I’ve had success with PTR and it will be great to be working with Simon and the boys again. It’s a good opportunity, I’m looking forward to it. Let’s see what we can do, it will be great to see everyone there.”

Dynavolt Triumph Team Manager Simon Buckmaster added: “We’ve a good working relationship with Michael, he’s got good feel for a bike and he’s a good Supersport rider. He’s really looking forward to it and so am I. It will be great working with him again, we’ve really enjoyed it in the past. Let’s see if we can’t surprise a few people.”
“Brandon has seen a specialist today and he’s having surgery to insert a screw in his fractured wrist later this week. As long as he’s passed fit, and the specialist has given him every indication he will be, he hopes to be back on our bike at Oulton Park. We look forward to that and hope he can continue with his progression and win races before the end of the season.”
