Press release 14th February 2022
OUR SPORTS FUTURE IS IN OUR YOUTH OF TODAY!
It is with great pleasure we can now announce our Team Wood Motorcycle Youth Academy line up for 2022.
After a difficult two years for everyone and just not in motorcycling we are now looking forward to a full racing season ahead.
The Academy have had the pleasure of working with 8 young riders over the last two short seasons, achieving the 2021 Moto-One Championship with Kai McClintock who was unstoppable winning every race he entered, Lee Hara achieved runner up position and our youngest rider Ruben Body obtained 3rd in the championship in his first year at National events. Dean Graham had a solid season finishing 7th.

Martin Burnett took runner up on the SS300 class and Callum Clint 7th. Lee, Ruben and Alaxander Rowan finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively in the Moto 3 Class.
These results are way above the Academy’s expectations but are very encouraging to see raw young talent coming through.
2022 line up will have our main scholar:-
Ruben Boyd who will again obtain the use of the Academy Tianda TDR 300. Ruben is still only 12yrs and has shown great ability to understand motorcycles control and set up.
Kai McClintock overcame many issues last year and still won a championship.
New to the Academy
Bailey Dobson, younger brother of Rossi. Bailey will have the use of the IMC Championship Tianda TDR 300.
Lee Hara remains in the Academy after a great performance last year.
Alexander Rowan will still have some support whenever he’s racing at USBK events.
The Academy’s rules clearly state that its for youth between the ages 12-15yrs on 1st January. Our committee discussed and agreed for 2022 that because of the short seasons in 20/21 we will continue our support to our other 2021 riders again who have just turned 16. Therefore, we are happy to announce that Martin Burnett, Callum Clint, and Dean Graham will have academy product support again this year.
We the Academy are here to provide help and assistance to the young competitors moving into National Short Circuit racing, hoping to aid with their guidance, support and encouragement.
We achieved great results in 2021 but the results are not our outmost goal, ensuring the youth can have as much support, fun and safe experience.
